It shouldn’t be difficult to read an analog clock. Nonetheless, people have trouble with it, and instead of attempting to think about it for five seconds they just look at a digital clock. Suddenly, only palpable information is allowed to enter the mind. If it can not be clearly seen and spelled out, it can’t enter, only things that are blatantly obvious. I don’t understand. People are torpid, in every single way. Why bother to take a moment and figure it out, they’re lazy. They feel like it is superfluous to have to use their brain. Like there is no point to it. My generation is heading for a downward spiral. Are teenage brains suddenly impregnable to knowledge? Did we somehow put up a roadblock to information? I’m not saying that people who can actually read an analog clock should be venerated or worshiped for their ability to tell time. This isn’t even about clocks. I am simply saying people should challenge themselves mentally. Some teenagers are even spurious. They put up a façade and are not true to their personalities because they think acting dumb would get people to like them more. Apparently people are intimidated by smart girls. The façade however is only going to get them back. They expect a sinecure job. They want to make a lot of money, but not really do any work for it. This job however doesn’t really exist.
The need for teenagers to use their brains to accomplish tasks is suddenly obsolete. This is thanks to things like Google and Facebook. Sure, people can type fast but the past leaders of our world didn’t get where they did by googling answers to homework, they used their minds which is something we fail to do. I’m not saying Google is bad, but I do feel it is over used. There a million, a myriad even, of things we can discover if we only unplug for the technical world around us for a moment, and look around.
